Odd Future play Birthdays, we remember when it was just fields around here

Special guests at the GetMe! Carnival warm-up will be hugely popular rap group behind Frank Ocean, Kilo Kish and Tyler The Creator, Odd Future, playing the tiny venue in the part of town that has definitely changed.

Hours after Skrillex announced that on Sunday he’ll be playing east London’s Shacklewell Arms, over the over the 300-capacity Birthdays will host one of the most popular rap groups in the world, Odd Future for the GetMe! Carnival warm-up session.

It marks the latest landmark in Dalston’s extraordinary transition from vibrant, if down-at-heel junction where you couldn’t throw a party as little as five years ago to the capital’s prime strip for music. There goes the neighbourhood!
