Blur honoured with lifetime achievement award at 2012 Brit Awards

Britpop originators credited with hero gong at music industry ceremony.

Blur, the band that invented Britpop and you probably know quite a bit about already, will receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award at next year’s Brit Awards, held in February, joining Oasis, Paul McCartney, The Who, U2 and Queen.

Blur reformed after a decade for some dates recently – including Hyde Park and Glastonbury – and continue to hint at going back into the studio next year.
