Big Boi does the sweetest thing for his daughter

Big Boi from Outkast gave his daughter her own record label for her 16th birthday, which is cooler/nicer than anything you've done this week.

Antwan Patton (Big Boi from Outkast and excellent solo work) set up a record label called Purple Kids for his daughter Jordan for her birthday. It will focus mainly on younger artists (the first signing is 12-year-old Gabbie Rae). Big Boi said this to Billboard:

“My daughter just turned 16 years old, and you can see it on MTV’s [‘My Super Sweet Sixteen’], where they get cars, and things that depreciate and just don’t mean nothing,” says the 36-year-old rapper. “I wanted to give my child something that she can grow and build and nurture. So I gave her her own label.”

He’s playing ATP this weekend, have a listen to the his unstoppable single Shutterbugg below:

Cheers for the tip, Alex Macpherson
