Watch Tim and Barry's feature-length documentary on the Chicago footwork scene

Tim and Barry, creators of Just Jam, have come together on a different audio visual project: I'm Tryna Tell Ya, a full length documentary on Chicago's footwork scene.

They had originally started filming footage for smaller projects – including a Beat This episode with DJ Rashad where he creates a beat in the studio in 10 minutes – but soon realised that they had enough to create a comprehensive documentary around Rashad and the other key artists in the footwork community. 

The documentary talks through the origins of the rapidfire dance moves associated with the genres with demonstrations, and we get a rare glimpse into DJ Rashad's life in and out of the studio, two years before his untimely death earlier this year. 

The documentary had its worlwide premiere screening at the ICA last month and has now been uploaded to Youtube in full. Stream it above.
