Smirnoff Sound Collective present Tribes: Discwoman

In a new club culture series launched by the Smirnoff Sound Collective, Tribes zooms in on some of the most forward thinking crews in the electronic music scene, paying close attention to often overlooked communities.

Taking centre stage for the first episode of Tribes are Discwoman. Established in Brooklyn two years ago, they are a female-only DJ collective, striving to promote gender diversity in electronic music via their set of anticipated events held in New York. Formed of founders Frankie Hutchinson, Christine Tran, and Emma Burgess-Olson – they have worked tirelessly to implement a gender balance within the masculine-heavy dance music industry, ensuring that female identified DJs and producers are treated equally to their male counterparts.

During the first episode of Tribes, Discwoman continue their quest for accessibility in music and cross the US border to host their first ever party in Mexico City. The sway of the group’s influence is further confirmed with guest appearances from Nicole Moudaber, Star Eyes, and the Black Madonna.
