Premiere: FEMME - Educated

FEMME is the new project of singer-songwriter and Nigel Godrich collaborator Laura Bettinson, who takes her inspiration from the strident hooks of 60s pop and describes FEMME on Facebook as “Girls. Beats. Bass.” The latest single Educated, with a nonchalant, playfully defiant vocal and low-slung, low-fidelity beats, provides exactly what’s promised on the tin, but veers away from convention at every opportunity. Watch Bettinson plunge her face into cream cakes, jam tarts and donuts and coat her lips in sprinkles in the new video, premiered exclusively at Dummy, as you make vain efforts to shake the sweetly addictive “I’m gonna let you love me” refrain out of your mind.

‘Educated’ will be released as a double A-side with the track ‘Double Trouble’ on the 22nd July 2013.
