Light Asylum live at SXSW 2012

Light Asylum channel energy like there’s no tomorrow. Theirs is a world of no tomorrows: ecstatic in its embrace of darkness, absorbing every drop of life before the end comes. Appropriately at the Mexican Summer showcase at SXSW last night they played new track End Of Days, which sounded very much like the next single. If it’s not, it should be. I grabbed a short clip of them performing Dark Allies. It would have been longer but the moment caught me, as well as the water singer Shannon Funchess threw into the crowd. It was a short but oh-so powerful show, as if the last couple of years of waiting for stuff to finally get going for them had never happened. Light Asylum are here.
