Disco on the BBC

Last night, the BBC sorted through their vast archives to present an hour of the very best disco performances on the official broadcaster. The show is a testament to disco’s chart explosion of the late 1970s, featuring hits from the unflappable Chic, the stunning Donna Summer and a young Michael Jackson donning a policeman’s hat during a live performance with the Jackson 5 in 1979. What’s also great is the inclusion of tracks by one-hit wonders and lesser known acts like Dundee’s very own Rokotto – killing it on Top of the Pops with their manifesto jam Funk Theory.
