Video: Rap, 16.01.20A proud product of New York, Wiki has established himself as one of Manhattan’s most forward-thinking rappers since rising to notoriety as one third of pioneering hip-hop group Ratking.
With a raw sound that encapsulates the dusty subway stations and high-rise tower blocks of the city that never sleeps, ‘The Routine’ is inspired by the rapper’s day-to-day life in the Big Apple.
The visuals weave in a mixture of VHS clips showing the artist going from the streets to the club, while the bright lights of New York portray the bouncing city for the culture hub it is.
The track appears on Wiki’s latest album ‘OOFIE’ which released in November last year, featuring production from Micachu, Faze Miyaki, Tony Selterz and Sporting life, plus guest appearances from Denzel Curry, Your Old Droog and Princess Nokia.
Since dropping digitally, the album will be released as a limited edition green vinyl LP in March 2020.
