Chicago singer/songwriter Willis Earl Beal is no stranger to exploring alternative, often more direct, modes of communication (he used to write his phone number on hand-drawn flyers). His Church of Nobody project finds him moving into film with an 8-part series of intimate live performances. Beal is a knock-out in the first film (watch below), and King Krule features in episode two, performing A Lizard State and Out Getting Ribs, as well as musing on the challenge of creating and inhabiting a stage name. It's a reminder just how much raw talent these two young artists have at their command.
True Panther/XL released King Krule's debut album '6 Feet Beneath The Moon' on 24th August 2013.
