Izzie Gibbs has been peppering the grime scene with gusto for a hot minute now, but has really come into his own in 2017 as an elite spitter. Gearing up for his forthcoming 96L's EP, the Northampton MC has shared its first track and accompanying visual, 'Obviously.'
Gibbs displays an authoritative lyricism throughout, alongside some cheeky standout bars and a mischievous intro that captures the size of the character he possesses. Dubstep pioneer Trolley Snatcha is on the buttons, with the ominous vibes and a dirty bassline trudging through the depths of the song to whip up a monster finish.
“When Trolley Snatcha played me the track I just spazzed instantly, I was so gassed," Izzie told Dummy about the track. "I wrote the whole song in like half an hour-45mins: gang shit. As for the video, it was a madness; I nearly dropped out the buggy when the driver was doing some maaad stunts. I fucking loved it, but when I got the 1st edit of the video I wasn't too impressed, so I went to the editors for the day and we banged it out. Big up man like Phil Good; he’s a sick editor with a special name."
