Double Vision is an absolute highlight from the recently-released debut album of Canadian band Tops.
Now with a accompanying DIY video, the song charms you off your feet with its showcase of Jane Perry’s care-free vocal and a softly-strummed melody interwoven with brassy synths. The band appear to have made the video by filming themselves and their mates doing, well, not much of anything, but its cheesy grins and colourful static interferences are the ideal slideshow to go with this soft-breathed and nostalgic tune. Even the muted chatter that’s been left in the recording forms an intimate layer to the music that never feels out of place.
