Satelliti, the latest signees on Leeds/Liverpool label Cuckundoo Records, are a duo who make improvisational tunes that channel a heady blend of krautrock and psychedelia. There are also early electronica influences in their work, and the freak-out ready Young Wolf is a neat reflection of that. With funky swagger that calls on drum ‘n’ bass in the breakdowns, it’s a sweaty collapse of live drums and free-flowing instrumentation. This Morgan Beringer-directed video begins with flashes of purplish brain-like forms, moving into a mirage of shifting shape and colour. And while it can rapidly be misused, sometimes you just can’t beat a bit of good ol’ distorted bass guitar.
