Video: Rap, 24.06.21Hailing from Birmigham, Otis Wongsam is part of a new generation of young creatives who are focused on taking their experimentation and expression to the next level.
Formerly part of OG Horse collective, a convention-defying West Midlands rap group which propelled the likes of Jorja Smith, Wongsam is now paving his own path and shares a brand single and video for ‘Genjutsu’, via Bona Soda.
Awash with melody-driven flows, syncopated hi-hats and groovy basslines, the rapper floats over the vibrant production with his trademark nonchalance.
“Genjutsu is about having blind faith in my dream and working hard towards it as if it is guaranteed”, he says about the track’s meaning.
The visualiser, available to watch exclusively above, has the feel of an intimate live performance and sees Otis lay down his verses in front of a lush backdrop surrounded by shrubbery and trees.
