Lafawndah recently dropped her ‘HONEY COLONY MIXTAPE 2’, an ode to future pop and female musical prowess that reimagined tracks by Cardi B, Kelsey Lu, 9-year-old Fashio Amina, and more.
South London MC Elheist also featured on the tape, flexing her punchy bars over the masterful ‘Bye Bye’, and now the two bosses have linked up for a hallucinatory, glitchy visual – which we’re premiering below.
“‘Bye Bye’ is a raw and reflective take on Missy Elliott and Mya’s original track entitled ‘Bye Bye’,” says Elheist. “It’s subtle and sweet but also fiesty and upfront. This one’s for all the beautiful ladies getting caught up and caught out in relationships, but more so an anthem of relief – get rid !! The production is both silky and gritty, all round triumphant.
Elheist joins Bonnie Banane, Kelsey Lu, Nídia, Tirzah and Lafawndah for ‘The Honey Colony’ live at the Southbank Centre on December 6th – find tickets here.
