JACKIE is a new solo project coming out of Berlin. In fact, it's so brand new, this is the very first piece of music shared with the world. While we're well used to self-titled debut albums or EPs, Jackie Bleibt would appear to be a self-titled debuting song – unless there's more mystery and craft behind this Jackie character than might first appear.
It's the faintly androgynous, gently manipulated vocal – leading us on like beckoning hand – that really makes us sit up here, but there's plenty going on in its angular, punctured production, too. The track was mastered by PAN's Rashad Becker, and the video, produced in collaboration with director Adam Luxton, is a fine thing that accentuates the track's qualities, taking place in some sterile, nervy office space, where some mysterious figures smoke shisha pipes, kick box and paint their nails. We await more from JACKIE with eager ears.
