As well as completing a U.K. and European tour this month, Gwilym Gold is scheduled to deliver his new single Greener World after the release of his debut album 'A Paradise' back in August on Brille Records. Following the stunning video for the song (directed by Kévin Bray), a new live performance (premiering below) has been shot by Laura Coulson, who captured Gwilym performing at a church on 16mm film.
The new clip heads down a couple of empty corridors and rooms searching for Gold before eventually finding him at a piano in an old kitchen. Of course, with his rich voice as a guide, you hear Gold much sooner before you see him. In a statement provided to Dummy by email, here's what Laura Coulson had to say about the footage:
"I wanted to approach this series of films in a slightly different way than your standard live video. My hope was they would have a slightly uneasy and awkward feel to them, by using the camera as a character and lurking around Gwilym, getting uncomfortably close at times. I love Gwilym's music; it has a such an ethereal feel to it, which I thought fitted perfectly with the simple yet charming quality of the Church Hall. We shot on 16mm for all three, and were only able to do two takes per song, putting a nice bit of extra pressure on Gwilym."
