Video: 16.06.22Peckham-based wordsmith Pinty marks his anticipated return with ‘Flex/On My Own’, a double single from his newly announced and biggest project to date ‘Pinty’s House’.
Drawing influence from his teenage days spent listening to classic grime and UK garage, ‘Flex’ is an infectious bop all about having fun and not taking life too seriously. On the other hand, ‘On My Own’ is an after-hours anthem, taking on more of a subdued and dreamy sound for the lonely walk home after the party has fizzled out.
The South East London MC is clearly pulling no punches in the run up to his forthcoming project, dropping what he’s dubbed “the most audacious video we’ve ever attempted” alongside the new tracks. Cut from the same cloth as D Double E’s iconic ‘Street Fighter Riddim’ music video, the Owain E. Morgan-directed visual splices an array of vibrant multimedia animations and backdrops as Pinty links up with viral trainspotter Francis Bourgeois.
Speaking about the video in an Instagram post, Pinty wrote: “Here it is in its entirety, 2 singles moulded in to the most audacious video we’ve attempted! So much Love to Francis Bourgeois for the cheeky appearance and out to the beautiful crew that bought this to life…I hope you like it cos i love it !!!”
Set for release September 9 via Winged Feet, the MC’s ‘Pinty’s House’ project is poised to raise the bar to new levels, featuring the likes of Afriqua, Jadasea, DJ JD Sports, Catching Cairo and more.
