If you don't know about CASISDEAD, we don't blame you because he's a fairly elusive artist. The London MC is one of the most mysterious around, but he has always produced the highest quality, and his star turns on Giggs' '501 (Hollow & Heston)' and LATER's 'Before This' can serve as key introductions for the less woke.
Oh, and he dons multiple masks both in videos and on stage, which is fittting because he rides a variety of soundscapes – whether it be hard-hitting rap or synthpop that harkens back to the 80s – with ease.
Just before the New Year rolled in, CAS dropped the visual for the nostalgic 'Pat Earrings'. In it, the rapper combines deft, gentle lyricism with a bouncy Cyrus production as he tells the story of himself and Pat Earrings, played in the video by radio presenter Yinka Bokinni. A feel-good anthem if there ever was one.
