Video: Rap, 18.06.19Experimental poet-rapper-singer Kojey Radical has unveiled a stunning visual for his expressive single ‘Can’t Go Back’.
Co-directed by Radical himself, the artist and a tribe of dancers harness the therapeutic power of dance to live purely in the moment; banishing any bad energy that may be present by removing life’s conscious and subconscious defences and letting the music take over.
The East London creative said it “feels like a return to form for me. When I went through the darkest parts of my depression I used dance as a sort of healing therapy. I wanted to reflect the joy of losing yourself in a moment and letting everything go. It’s taking things all the way back to the basics to begin again and free yourself from past trauma.”
The final minute teases fans with a snippet of punching lyrics from the powerful unreleased track ’20/20′ – with the two songs featured acting as the first offering from Kojey’s highly anticipated third full-length body of work, set for release later this year.
Radical also recently announced a small series of free, intimate pop-up shows for his fans after posting on his Instagram: ‘No more doing anything that’s not about the people that support me. I know what I’m doing this for now more so than ever. It’s for you. This show is for you,’ with the first set to take place at Hoxton Bar & Grill on June 25th.
