Video: Rap, 04.02.22North West London rapper Knucks has opened his account for the year with a brand new double offering from his upcoming release ‘Alpha Place’.
The enigmatic wordsmith has become somewhat of a golden-boy over the last few years, rising to the pinnacle of the UK rap scene thanks to a steady drip of hit singles and critically acclaimed projects, such as 2020’s ‘London Class’ and 2019’s ‘NRG 105’.
With his devoted fanbase itching to find out what the rapper’s next move would be, Knucks returns with a cinematic joint video for new singles ‘Alpha House’ and ‘Hide & Seek’.
‘Alpha House’ was debuted on Knucks’ recent COLORS session, revealing a slick, lyrically potent cut which dives into his upbringing on his Kilburn estate. ‘Hide & Seek’ similarly demonstrates the North West Londoner’s inimitable story-telling ability, exploring the relationship between the police force and young Black men.
Knucks has been known to deliver visual spectacles in the past: his now iconic video for ‘Home’ springs to mind as one of the most impactful UK rap videos in recent times. With ‘Alpha House / Hide & Seek’, he’s produced something special once more.
Looking as though it was taken straight out of a film, the cinematic music video shows a younger version of Knucks and his friends before kickabouts in the street turn into run-ins with the law. The rapper has always had a clear eye for visuals (read about his all-time favourite Missy Elliot videos here).
