Julia Holter is an artist we’re increasingly excited about at Dummy. ‘Tragedy’, her debut album on Leaving Records, was one of our best albums of 2011 and her second album ‘Ekstasis’, due in March on RVNG Intl., is already even more enthralling: a joy from start to finish. A recent wander round the web unearthed this video for Für Felix, surprisingly made three years ago by director Eric Fensler. It stars Holter as a bereaved shipwreck victim from another era, mourning the loss of her lover as Death and his companion wolf watch over them. In other worlds, it’s as enchanting and remarkable as the world Holter creates.
