Encyclopaedia enthusiast Huerco S. recently made an album called 'Colonial Patterns' because he's a history obsessive fascinated with the stories of America before white contact, and because he's a wizard with warm, lo-fi techno. Shuffling along on a fractured beat, Ragtime U.S.A. (Warning) mirrors its subject matter of stories buried by history with a muffled sense of unease and a visual representation that resembles TV static, never quite settling into anything familiar.
