Video: Rap, 23.09.21Given his exceptional output over the last twelve months, it should come as no surprise when Camden rapper HEN$HAW delivers a heater. Marking his most anticipated release since ‘LOWKEY’, new single ‘GIFT’ arguably pushes the envelope further than any of his releases so far and showcases the emerging talent at his brilliant best.
The fast-paced and claustrophobic goodbyechase production proves the ideal backdrop for HEN$HAW’s dizzying flows, which cut through the nightmarish soundtrack with the finesse and dexterity of an artist way beyond his years.
Lyrically, he details finding the balance between being a young rockstar and staying on course as a serious musician at the same time: “I feel like I do that quite well and I feel like the bounce of the track allowed me to showcase that. I also had the idea to change the pitch of the beat in the second verse because of the complete switch of energy”, he says.
Accompanied with a striking monochrome music video directed by Sorin D Visuals, the track is gifted a whole new dimension as the North West London artist confidently cuts through the black and white landscape.
