Heatsick is the moniker for Berlin-based musician Steven Warwick who uses keyboard, percussion and vocals to create refreshingly playful tones. Following last year’s ‘Intersex’ LP on Bill Kouligas’ reputed PAN label, Déviation sees Warwick appear to create a sense of continuity with his ‘Dream Tennis’ 12” on Berlin label Cocktail d’Amor. The track is sluggish and luxoriously slow-moving in its first half, perfectly relating to the notion of Heatsick: that laziness of intense summer warmth. Déviation is pressed on white vinyl with sleeve artwork by Kathryn Politis and Bill Kouligas and is out tomorrow. Artist Richard Forbes-Hamilton filmed this DIY style video for Déviation at Berlin’s Tempelhof airport.
