Now that Lorely Rodriguez aka Empress Of has finished with addressing Mexican catcallers and rich kids who don't recognise their privilege, it's time for her to let loose and hit the dancefloor on her new single How Do You Do It. Shot by Jamie-James Medina and directed by Molly Hawkins, with a microphone in hand, Rodriguez lets her hair down from the tour life at a karaoke bar, dancing alone in the dark as multi-coloured lights shine on her performance.
On the latest track from her excellent upcoming debut album 'Me', Rodriguez plays a convincing diva. A Balearic stomper that echoes the early blissed-out melodies of John Talabot, it's fused with the marks of commercial bounce and melodies. The track's flirtation with the mainstream is exemplary of 'Me's exercise in control and restraint and though the closing vocal refrain has a commercial tone, the energy isn't as overbearing as what you may hear on the radio.

Empress Of will release 'Me' on September 11th through Terrible Records/XL Recordings (pre-order).
