Astral Black's instrumental prodigy and Sewerside Phonk champion Drae Da Skimask throws out a winner with Ganksta Shit, taken from his '95 Mindfulness' EP.
Featuring a video shot and edited by Jamie Edmundson between the labels stronghold cities of Glasgow and London, Ganksta Shit is a double vision journey down a road that is like floating through an inner-city force field full of Swisher Sweets and purple Jolly Ranchers. The track is given addtional skew by New Zealand's Tommy II (a distant nod to ultimate creeper Tommy Wright III maybe).
The EP, which is named after his year of birth (and is a stark reminder for most of us how old we're getting) also features Juicy J sampled Yambourghini Forever and the airy Coogi Sweater which could probably lend itself well to a power ballad voiced by Project Pat.
If you're all about the physicalities, you can catch Drae in person at The Alibi on Saturday August 1st. Its free entry and Drae will be performing alongside guest appearances from Onoe Caponoe (High Focus Records), Kareful & more.
''95 Mindfullness' is out now on limited edition cassette and digital download via Astral Black (buy).
