No one does “dark”, “archivist” and “atmospheric” quite like Manchester duo Demdike Stare. Their brand of eerie, rough cut techno/drone/dub/whatever else, always beguiles with a kind of moth-to-lamp intensity. You’d be well advised to get hold of their 2010 trilogy of albums (conveniently collected together as ‘Tryptych’ earlier this year) if you haven’t already.
The Wire, who conducted a great interview with them in this month’s issue, have posted up this video to unreleased track Violetta. The oddly spine-chilling visuals were created by the man behind European cult movie website lovelockandload.
