The new video from dream-pop artist Cuushe combines spaghetti, music boxes and floating, dismembered body parts in the most adorable and sparkly way imaginable. Cuushe herself plays up the minimalist aspects of the track with her very still, very deadpan performance, while around her the technicolour sprawl of the visuals gives away the thrilling alive underbelly of the track, which, as on the best of the album, is driven forwards on a ghostly syncopated pulse. The film, like the song, has a sense of unease chasing behind its floaty, carefree aesthetic, with sideways glances giving away the protaganists' mistrust of their surroundings (their mistrust is justified, given their heads are prone to disappearing inside floating CGI objects).
Flau Records released ' Butterfly Case' in September 2013; stream it in full here. This summer, they made us a beautiful ambient Dummy Mix to showcase their label; you can listen to/download that here.
