Darkstar’s) ‘North’ [Hyperdub, 2010]is one of the strongest albums of recent years, and their silence since has been little short of deafening. A move to Warp was announced, and since then, not a great deal – until earlier today when the trio Tweeted that they were working with The Field, and that they would be sharing the “astounding” results. Right on time, two hours later, a video was uploaded to Yfrog, featuring singer James Buttery shaking his head in slow motion as their trademark elegiac synths played. And with news that they are also recording with Richard Formby in the “unsung soul capital of leeds”, Dummy is official excited.
