Multi-tasker Dev Hynes has just released his second LP as his pop alter-ego Blood Orange, 'Cupid Deluxe', via Domino. Packed full of rose-tinted retro jams, the often exquisite album feels as if it was made for him to dance alone to it in a studio next to a white piano, which is just as well given that in the simple and charming new clip for Time Will Tell, that's exactly what he does. Riding the schmaltzy piano vibes over an insistent kick drum, the track is a floaty feel-good anthem for wailing into the mirror with ridiculous "come into my bedroom" eyes.
In other news, Hynes will be lecturing at NYU on "composing and the synaesthetic sense" tomorrow, which he explains means that he'll be playing a 30 minute composition accompanied with visuals that he'll add and subtract to illustrate synaesthetic effects.
Domino released 'Cupid Deluxe' on iTunes on the 12th November and will release it physically on the 18th November 2013.
