Instant stick-it-on-repeat business, this: one of our favourite new artists, Álauda, has shared a new song and video, Honey Priest.
For those unfamiliar, Álauda is a currently nameless musician who first came to Dummy's attention by dropping us an email containing the absolutely spellbinding Falling Star, which was followed up by Cyan Water. While there isn't much information about her out there, what is certain is that she writes some of the most gorgeous pop songs we've heard in ages, tied together by the sweetest nursery rhyme voice and warm, intricate and unique production (apparently her music is made on a reel-to-reel record and a Fairlight sampler found at an airport – not a bad find, considering a Fairlight recently sold for nearly 10 grand).
The video for Honey Priest is a grainy, hypnotising visual filmed around the house and Álauda's studio through what appears to be a crystal ball. There are also some shots of the most beautiful cat.
Incidentally, there's a reversed version of the song that you can also watch a video for – it's what a "confused fly" might see.
