1. XATIVA – ‘You’re a Mistake’
XATIVA is a Swedish-Ecuadorian singer-songwriter based in London. Fusing traditional Latin influences with contemporary jazz and R&B, her latest single ‘You’re A Mistake’ is a super dreamy and measured acoustic track showcasing the singer’s classically trained vocal range.
2. Len – ‘SELLINDAT’
Stockwell-born rapper Len is pulling no punches when it comes to his most recent mixtape ‘DEAD END’. Featuring the likes of Aonenine, ayrtn and Sam Wise, the 12-track project elevates the rising talent to new heights, with track number 4 ‘SELLINDAT’ standing out as a one of the EP’s highlights.
3. Nyluu – ‘Interlune’
The centrepiece of Nyluu’s latest album ‘uu Symphonie’, ‘Interlune’ is an otherworldly cocktail of French rap, drum ‘n’ bass and left-field electronics. Following 2020’s ‘uu’ project, this new offering is the young artist’s third body of work in 2 years and showcases some of his most ambitious and mature work to date.
4. Sarabean – ‘Belonged’
At just 18-years-old, US-based singer/songwriter Sarabean’s kaleidoscopic brand of indie folk is an impressive feat. Taking influence from the likes of Portishead and Bleachers, ‘Belonged’ is a stripped-back and emotive cut from her recent album ‘please don’t let me be’.
5. Psychic Radio – ‘Zoey 404’
Psychic Radio’s emerging brand of cyberpop deserves a spot in this week’s selection. Bringing together ominous lyrics with sleek, electronic production, the up-and-coming talent has produced something totally unique on latest single ‘Zoey 404’.
