Four Tet revives his KH alias with 3LW sampling ‘Looking at Your Pager’
Incorporating talent from across the globe, check out our five Tracks of the Week taken from our meticulously-curated BRAND NEW playlist showcasing some of the most exciting up-and-coming talents around.
1. Soraya – ‘Hypnotized’
Topping our list this time round is the debut single from Soraya, the mysterious and enigmatic figure operating under Berlin-based imprint Kontinuum. Despite being released midway through last year, this narcotic dance track is one of the best tunes we’ve heard all week and is just what the doctor ordered going into the weekend. Soraya has also released a brand new single recently, entitled ‘Evolve’, which we recommend checking out.
2. MYSRY & L0LA – ‘heavn’
Rising talents MYSRY and L0LA’s new collaboration ‘heavn’ is one to get excited about. Produced by babyxd, the single is a dreamy pop ballad punctuated with cute hooky melodies and nonchalant wordplay. Existing somewhere between cloud rap and hyperpop, this duo have created a sound of their own.
3. mynameisleonidas – ‘waves’
Donning a unique blend of pop, rock and hip hop, mynameisleonidas describes himself as an artist from an unknown location on Earth. Despite operating within a cloud of mystery, the elusive figure’s latest single ‘waves’ is a clear statement of his artistic mission. Sprinkling vintage Greek lyra and Polish spoken word into the track, his latest offering is one you’ll want to listen to more than once.
4. HENRI VICTORIOUS – ‘TTYL!’
Rising to prominence as an elusive figure in the internet hip hop scene, HENRI VICTORIOUS has been putting in the work since 2012. The producer’s latest track ‘TTYL!’ showcases his glitchy, modern sound, synonymous with a diverse collection of melodies, twisted drums and ghostly vocals.
5. Claire Dickson – ‘Starland’
Hailing from Medford, Massachusetts and currently based in Brooklyn, Claire Dickson is a musician who uses a mixture of techniques, electronics and vocal styles to land at her glacial, moody sound. The title track of her ‘Starland’ album is the perfect encapsulation of this style, using minimal but expansive synths to create something out of this world.
