Sónar heads for colder climes in February for it's Icelandic instalment. Taking place in Reykjavik on the 18-20th of the month, the second flurry of recently announced acts are a strong statement of the musical diversity Sónar is famous for.
German star Boys Noize will bring his flair and showmanship to Reykjavik for the first time. Neuroscientist by day, DJ/producer/composer by night, Floating Points will be playing live as an extra-special treat for Sónar's guests. The man of the moment, Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never is gonna be there. What more could you ask for in a line-up? Oh wait, Berlin based tastemaker Ellen Allien, UK favourite Ben UFO and Copenhagen's 4×4 techno queen Courtesy will also be making appearances.
Beyond electronic music, the hip hop scene won't miss out this year, with fast-flowing lyrical phenomenon Angel Haze confirmed to play during the festival at the spectacular Harpa Concert Hall. Hot on the heels of end of year pick 'Lantern', electronic hip hop hybrid Hudson Mohawke is also set to wow the crowds. Oh and there's more, much more. Kick back to our dedicated playlist below for some of the cherrypicked artists and get set for a freezing cold but fully immersive experience in February.
