Premiere: Logic1000 adds a retro house spin to Skeleten’s ‘Walking On Your Name’
Incorporating talent from across the globe, check out our five Tracks of the Week taken from our meticulously-curated ‘BRAND NEW’ playlist showcasing some of the most exciting up-and-coming talents around.
1. Paris Texas – ‘HEAVY METAL’
Making maximum impact with the launch of their gritty debut single ‘HEAVY METAL’, L.A. duo Paris Texas are promising big things. Despite operating in the space that experimental groups like Death Grips carved out, the pair’s abrasive blend of punk-inflected guitar lines and piercing noise-rap is in a lane of its own.
2. Virgil Hawkins – ‘Wifey’ ft. LCYTN
Opening his account for 2021, rising rapper Virgil Hawkins has delivered a banger. With vocals from UK talent LCYTN and production from long-time collaborator HNRO, the Londoner dances over the dreamy cloud rap beat with a cascade of world-building melodies.
3. april june – ‘wish I could hate you’
Flying the flag for the Scandinavian bedroom pop scene, april june’s latest single brings to bloom her authentic DIY attitude over a melange of hazy chords and nostalgic vocals. The blurry-eyed sound of ‘wish I could hate you’ reveals the depth of her craft.
4. Chams – ‘100 Francs’
The trap-infused sound of Chams’ new single is underpinned by a barrage of ethereal synths and uplifting melodies. Marking an animated change from the melancholy of his previous work; ‘100 Francs’ sees the Paris-based artist explore new terrain.
5. Nikhil Beats – ‘Honey’ ft. Bawo & Ayeisha Raquel
Taken from his new ‘3000 Realms’ EP, ‘Honey’ sees up-and-coming East London producer Nikhil Beats tap up local talent Bawo and Ayeisha Raquel for a sizzling UK rap number.
