Incorporating talent from across the globe, check out our five Tracks of the Week taken from our meticulously-curated BRAND NEW playlist showcasing some of the most exciting up-and-coming talents around.
1. LOLA – ‘Back’
Splicing intricate compositions, haunting melodies and immersive worlds, London-based musician LOLA’s unique brand of alt-R&B takes a direct approach to storytelling and uncovering emotion. On new single ‘Back’, the talented up-and-coming songstress toasts an ethereal soundscape leading listeners to believe they’re being let in on a guarded secret.
2. memorex – ‘care’ feat. Ayleen Valentine
The supergroup brainchild of underground artists Maki Adams and mykel online, memorex is a project creating exciting new waves in the experimental pop scene. Building a user-generated world with future-facing, computerised sounds and glitchy production, the duo enlist Ayleen Valentine’s vocals to create a moody yet danceable offering.
3. snorunt – ‘averse’ feat. dj33needler
The title of French artist snorunt’s latest single ‘averse’ translates to ‘downpour’ – a fitting title for a track diving deep into personal stories of heartbreak, loss and trying to move on. Produced by dj33needler, the experimental single follows on from last year’s ‘glalie’ EP and shows what the rising talent is all about.
4. Toad – ‘Paralysis (Interlude)’
‘Paralysis (Interlude)’ is taken from Toad’s debut album ‘TOAD2: Modern Person’. Revisiting and refining concepts from their old EP and charging them with fresh inspiration brought along by new collaborators, this project and single makes for a spell-binding listen.
