Konx-Om-Pax tops our NEXT HYPE playlist this week

Featuring new heat from Tame Impala, Florentino, Dance System and more...

Today dance music veterans (in every sense of the word) the Chemical Brothers release their ninth studio album, ‘No Geography’ – and we asked Johnno Burgess, the journalist who conducted their first-ever interview back in 1993, to speak to them about what is – and isn’t – their Brexit album.

Elsewhere this week, we took a look at Ireland’s burgeoning leftfield electronic scene, with Soft Boy affiliate Wastefellow naming the best new acts from that corner of the world. Total Refreshment Centre family Emma Warren spoke to us about the tracks that shaped the late Hackney venue responsible for the explosion of new London jazz, while DJ Haram handed in this belter of a Middle Eastern-inspired and Jersey club blending mix.

In addition, we heard great new music from Katie McBride, femme culture, Coucou Chloe and Yizzy.

Take a listen to our NEXT HYPE playlist in full – topped by Konx-Om-Pax’s stellar single from his forthcoming Planet Mu album:
