Incorporating talent from across the globe, check out our five Tracks of the Week taken from our meticulously-curated BRAND NEW playlist showcasing some of the most exciting up-and-coming talents around.
1. Jawnino – ‘Dance’
Anonymous rap prospect Jawnino is one of the most experimental and unique artists in the UK underground right now. Taken from his recent EP ‘4040 – Good Thing Bad Thing Who Knows’, ‘Dance’ is a glitchy anthem showcasing the wordsmith’s left-field flows alongside his close affinity with the peculiar.
2. Ange Halliwell – ‘Dace’
Based in the verdant countryside of south-west France, Ange Halliwell makes harp music with hypnotic arpeggios and sung, spoken or shouted voices. ‘Dace’ is the eleventh track on his latest ‘Lullaby for the Dead’ project and takes the form of lullaby itself, building in intensity until a brief spoken word section concludes the emotive composition.
3. ABADIR – ‘Mutate’
AِBADIR is a music producer and sound designer born in Cairo, Egypt. His work focuses on experimental, club, glitch and ambient music, and he’s one half of the duo 0N4B. On ‘Mutate, the producer cooks an array of Arabic rhythms with a thumping jungle and drum ‘n’ bass skeleton.
4. Lucy Lohan – ‘VIP’
The opening track from his recent ‘GUNK’ EP, Lucy Lohan’s ‘VIP’ showcases the rapper’s minimalist hip-hop sound while making nods to hyperpop and trap influences. Each track for the project was recorded in a new environment at various locations around the world; such as Amsterdam, Glasgow, London, and Paris on one big trip.
5. Ted Jasper – ‘party for 2’
After going through a period of deep connection with the people, places and music around him in 2021, Ted Jasper is using this year to put out the songs that define that particular stage of his life. Super mellow in its sound design and delivery, ‘party for 2’ shows what the high-flying indie talent is all about.
