'Yeezus' production credits yield surprises

Much has been made of the leftfield cast of producers working on ‘Yeezus’ and now the official credit list has been unveiled for you to digest on Kanye West’s official site. Some of the most interesting revelations include the fact that Rhymefest, best known for co-writing Jesus Walks, appears across the record. There’s also G.O.O.D. Music regulars CyHi Da Prynce and Malik Yusef all over the credit list, and Lupe Fiasco gets a writer’s credit on opening track On Sight. Here are a few of the most intriguing points – a few of them we knew already, but it should settle who did what once and for all.

1. Daft Punk. It’s long been known that the duo have contributed to the album, but their full involvement is now on show. They ended up working on four tracks – On Sight, Black Skinhead, I Am A God and Send It Up. Here’s hoping that their next album will have some of this intensity.
2. Gesaffelstein and Brodinski. The Bromance duo have two production credits, appearing on Black Skinhead and Send It Up. They’ve come a long way in the few years since they first appeared.
3. Benji B. Benji B is listed as a producer on On Sight. Whilst we were initially doubtful that it’s that Benji B, FACT have confirmation that it is.
4. Young Chop on the beat. Drill producer Young Chop managed to settle his differences with Mr. West over his I Don’t Like remix and ended up all over the record.
5. HudMo. HudMo did a lot on the record. He’s come an awful long way since he played Dummy’s first birthday party all those years ago – we’re proud of the scamp.
6. Evian Christ. The Tri Angle producer and Dummy mixer appears on the awesome I’m In It as a producer.
7. Arca. Arca is all over the place – he’s actually listed as a “production consultant” (alongside Young Chop and HudMo), which might suggest that he was a key force shaping the sound of Yeezus.
