Willits + Sakamoto – 'Ancient Futures' (album stream)

The younger American electro-acoustic musician Christopher Willits and the elder Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto follow 2008’s collaboration with this lovely album of piano and hush. Sakamoto has influenced a generation of musicians now exploring that lovely space between classical composition and electronic music, from Oneohtrix Point Never to John Roberts to our very own CFCF, and this album is a pretty, fine exploration of time, contradiction and drift perfect for late-night reading or checking your afternoon’s emails.
