Stream Warlock's new EP for Django Django's Kick + Clap label

Veteran London DJ and producer lands on Dave Maclean's new label with four tracks of pumped-up, grimy house and techno.

Django Django have literally just released their second album 'Born Under Saturn', and their energy levels have evidently never been higher. Djangos producer/drummer Dave Maclean recently launched his label Kick + Clap – named after his clubnight in Dalston – with one record by the legendary Neil Landstrumm in the bag, and future releases coming from some truly wonderful people, including Bullion & Rye Rye (Rye Rye is a name we don't hear around nearly enough nowadays) and some other names we can't mention just yet but can assure you are very exciting.

But before all that comes a four-tracker from Warlock called 'Seventeen Camels'. Warlock is a veteran DJ from London who has been around since the start of the rave scene and who has witnessed an awful lot of stuff come and go over the years – often firsthand. He's hosted shows on pirate stations Pulse FM and Kool FM, A&R'd releases from DJ Hell and Surgeon at Kickin Records, and more recently notched up records on Hypercolour, Fat Hop, and Skint & We Buy Gold.

In the words of Dave Maclean: "I was in my car listening to the radio and the DJ was playing an amazing mix of odd-sounding, grimey techno. I pulled the car over and scribbled down some of the track names and after a bit of Googling, I discovered that they were tracks the presenter of the show – Warlock – had produced and was playing out for the first time. I wrote to him and explained the ethos of Kick + Clap, and he was really keen to get involved."

If you want to catch Warlock play out, he'll be at the Django Django and Kick + Clap Field Day afterparty on June 6th.
