Vondelpark - Dracula

Vondelpark have shared a taster of their album ‘Seabed’, due for release early next year. Dracula couldn’t come at a more appropriate time – Bram Stoker would have been 165 today, and we’d like to think that, if he were still alive, he’d be proud of the Surrey-based three-piece.

It’s a bit of a misnomer, though, because Dracula is far more gorgeous than blood-curdling. “Textural” is the dominant mode of expression – like many of Vondelpark’s tracks, it’s introverted yet expressive, using its synths, guitars and drums impressionistically. It’s understated and simplistic, and it works brilliantly because of it.
