Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Can't Keep Checking My Phone

ABSOLUTE JAM from UMO's new album.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra have shared a new single from their forthcoming third album, 'Multi-Love'.

Can't Keep Checking My Phone further demonstrates the skewed disco-prog sound of 'Multi-Love', utilising even more funk basslines, homemade synthesizer work, and hella crunchy and hella satisfying drums. It's also a total jam and one of the album's highlights, timeless in a way but also very modern in its production and lyrical subject matter (which is about a cautiousness of using online connectivity as a substitute for human interactions with somebody that you miss).

It's maybe not quite as lifechangingly good as title track Multi-Love – but then again, few songs this year have been (or will be). We picked it as one of our favourite songs of the year so far.
