Turn That Racket Down: a documentary on John Peel's career

Stream a wonderful one-hour documentary on the life and works of the legendary British disc jockey and radio presenter.

Turn That Racket Down is an extraordinary documentary originally screened during the August Bank Holiday back in 1999 to celebrate John Peel’s 60th birthday.

First broadcast on BBC2, the documentary features contributions from broadcasters, recording artists, and legends of the music such as John Walters, Jarvis Cocker, Billy Bragg and others. The one hour documentary looks into the life and works of the iconic disc-jockey, also including rare archives back from when John was working as a DJ in America. Turn That Racket Down festers interviews with John at his home and in the office, in addition to his comments on unsigned bands/artists and remarkable musicians of the time.
