The Prodigy pay tribute to Keith Flint during 'Firestarter' performance at Brixton show

"Mr. Flint fucking lives on in here!"

The Prodigy used their headline show at O2 Academy Brixton last Thursday (July 21) to pay tribute to the band’s former vocalist and frontman Keith Flint during a performance of ‘Firestarter’.

Fan-shot footage from last week’s gig reveals a breathtaking light show for their 1996 hit song, complete with laser beams outlining the late band member who died in 2019. The Prodigy’s Maxim told the London audience: “He’s still fucking with us right now. He’s still here! Mr. Flint fucking lives on in here!”

The show was part of the The Prodigy’s sold-out UK summer tour which kicked off in Sheffield on July 8 before concluding with three nights back-to-back at Brixton Academy. The group dedicated the tour to Flint earlier in the year, stating “THIS ONE’S FOR FLINTY”.

Reflecting on the now complete UK tour, The Prodigy wrote on Instagram:”It’s been uplifting, emotional, sonically violent, crowd chaotic,10,000 degrees… all that shit we luv!! We are energised by ur support and luv and we will never forget that. Respect always to the worldwide Prodigy warriors who represent, we luv u all.”

A 25th anniversary vinyl reissue of The Prodigy’s 1997 album ‘The Fat of the Land’ is due out November 4 via XL Recordings.
