The Knife are making new music for a political activist cabaret

Europa Europa - an anti-nationalist cabaret tackling Sweden and the EU's asylum policies - will debut in July.

The Knife are making new music for a political activist cabaret, Europa Europa.

Europa Europa is a travelling project that will tackle Sweden and the EU's migration politics and the human rights abuses committed through asylum policies – it's described on The Knife's official website as an "anti-national cabaret". Produced in collaboration with art collective Ful, the Swedish duo are contributing new music to the show, while also appearing as the "house band", according to a translation from Europa Europa's site.

Last year, The Knife released 'Shaking The Habitual', their overtly political and confrontational album to date (and a really excellent one at that).

The show premieres in Visby, Sweden, on July 1st 2014, with future dates to follow.
