The Knife announce new album in progress

Swedish pop duo to follow up 2006's 'Silent Shout' with a new album in 2012.

Olof Dreijer and Karin Dreijer Andersson have announced on The Knife’s website in a post backing Amnesty International’s campaign for Roma housing rights that “The Knife is now recording a new album to be released in 2012”.

The brother/sister duo’s last album proper, ‘Silent Shout’, was released in 2006. In the years since, both have worked on solo projects – Karin with Fever Ray (Dummy’s favourite artist of 2009) and Olof releasing under the Oni Ayhun name – as well as collaborating with Planningtorock and Mt. Sims on an opera ‘Tomorrow, In A Year’, the studio version of which was released on 1st March 2010.

More details on The Knife’s new album when we have them. In the meantime, here are a couple of reminders why this is exciting news.

The Knife Silent Shout [album released 25th July 2006]
