The Invisible - Protection

Lush new track from indie band The Invisible is fleshed out with heaps of rich, diverse sound.

It’s been a while since we heard anything of The Invisible , the indie-electro-alternative-experimental-type band who stunned with their self-titled debut in 2009. Since this flash of Mercurcy Prize-nominated brilliance, news of the band has fallen quiet, with each of its three members pursuing solo projects.

Now, having spent their time writing, producing and playing for the likes of Adele and Jessie Ware, the group are back with more of their own music, and it’s got the exact same sit-up-and-pay-attention factor as their debut had three years ago. ‘Protection’ is a taster (a pretty long taster, at over seven minutes) of what is to come on the band’s second album, Rispah , due later this year. Sprawling, open and heavy with noise, the track weaves its way through influences as through it was groggily waking up from a musical dream.
