Teddy - Primate

Just when everyone's up in arms about there being no bands on the BBC Sound of 2014 longlist, along come Dalston-based four-piece Teddy with their almost irritatingly catchy debut single to throw you for a loop. Primate is a jaunty synth and guitar-led jam that packs extremes of placid calm and frantic energy into its hectic three minutes, and which sounds so sweet and sunny you almost don't notice that the central hook is "I'm rough, baby, I shit every day and I think about dying." Ones to keep an eye on.
